Your time is valuable and you will want to make certain that you use your designer in an efficient and effective manner. There are certain things that you can do to get prepared for your meeting:
- If you have a copy of your floor plan, bring it with you. If you do not have a floor plan, take the measurement of the room you are interested in including the length of each wall, the ceiling height, door widths and height, windowsill measurements from the sill to the floor, fireplace width and height and mantle width and height.
- When applicable, bring a sample of your carpet or other floor covering. You can usually lift a heat vent and cut a sample.
- A sample of any fabric, wall coverings or tile that you will be using in the room.
- A photo of each wall in the room from floor to ceiling.
- Measurements of any furniture or rugs that will be kept in the room. A photo file of each piece with measurements is very helpful.
- Paint samples from the room. If you have the brand of paint and the number that is also very helpful.
- Magazine photos of ideas and colors you love, even if they do not apply to the project.
- Magazine photos of ideas and colors that you do not like. This is helpful so that your designer does not lead you where you do not want to go.
- Gather photos and details of any important collections or heirlooms.
- Click on the link below and print the Design Questionaire. Please fill out the Design Questionaire and bring it into the store for your design consultation. The questionnaire is essential to your design consultant. It helps pinpoint your individual needs.
